Mr. Mark Lee acted for a client facing various charges for allegedly being physically abusive to his wife and children. Including Section 3(2) of the Protection from Harassment Act (Cap. 256A), Section 336(a) and Section 323 of the Penal Code (Cap. 224). For such charges, one could have been jailed up to two (2) years, fined or caned, or with any combination of such punishments.
With Mr. Mark Lee’s representation, the Prosecution was persuaded and ultimately withdrew all charges against the client. In an interview by Lianhe Zaobao (联和早报) (a mandarin newspaper), Mr. Mark Lee was described as such; “Mr. Lee not only helped his client avoid a potential imprisonment term of up to two years, a fine, caning or any combined punishment, Mr. Lee also helped his client to start the re-healing process for his whole family.”
